Gabor Mate, M.D.: “Hold On To Your Kids” In this book, co-written with
Gordon Neufeld,

Dr. Mate talks about the increase in “peer culture” since WWII, that has replaced parental attachment/guidance, and is resulting in increasing immaturity in parents and children.  The “peer” world is one of constant rejection, severe peer coersion about clothes, tastes and behavior.  When “peers” are more important as role models than mature parents, young individuals grow up insecure, unsure and directionless.  Dr. Mates’ book, co-written with Gordon Neufeld, Ph.D., is a great gift to parents of children at any age. In this interview Dr. Mate points the audience in a healthy parenting direction.
